One of our new tabi sock styles from Japan - men's tabi crew socks in white with a black toe tabi edge.

The Tabi Shoes shape fits securely to the foot, and the non-slip socks are easy to match with zori (Japanese sandals) or sandals. The dotted nonslip surface on the sole enhances stability, and the subdued colouring blends well with both Japanese and Western styles. This pair is recommended for everyday use as well as for yukata and kimono attire.

I have kept the reverse of the brown tabi non slip sock in for an example as the pattern is difficult to see against the white but follows the same design.

What are Tabi Socks?

Tabi socks, two toe socks are perhaps less well known in Europe and the US but are becoming more and more popular as communities integrate and shoppers look to embrace new styles and design. Basically, Tabi socks are 2 toe socks (your big toe goes in the one side and the rest mingle on the other).

The benefits include greater aeration (less sweaty feet!) and improvement of balance and blood circulation. A Japanese staple for several hundred years, they're normally worn with thonged footwear and worn by Ninja, martial artists, kimono wearers and humble flip flop wearers too!

They are also worn when wearing a range of Japanese wooden sandals known as Zori or Geta which are easy to get on and off when visiting friends and family.

Lots of people like wearing them for an extra layer when wearing with flip flops in chilly nights, in hospital, or even on aeroplanes when relaxing, the choice is yours!

    1. Turn your socks inside-out.

    2. Machine wash on gentle cycle in warm or cool water.

    3. Please wash in a washing net using mild soap; no bleach or fabric softener.

Turning your socks inside-out protects them from friction, allowing them to last longer.
